For Sale & Rent: Chelsea, London.

A cottage in a Chelsea backwater intended as a one or two person weekday pad. Initially we concentrated on reconfiguring the bathroom where we were asked to incorporate a double vanity unit to match that in the clients’ other properties - and a separate shower - all within a very restricted space. In order to do this, we reduced the size of the basins and swopped a stud wall for a sheet of glass, thus saving crucial centimetres which allowed the plan to proceed. At this stage the client’s existing furniture was the starting point for the room schemes, including window treatments, wall and floorcoverings throughout. However, when the clients decided to move on, we were commissioned to upgrade some of the furnishings in order to finish the property to a suitable standard for letting. Ultimately the client decided to dispose of the house instead, selling it within days of us putting the last cushion on the sofa.
